In today's world, there are far too many problems, and not nearly enough solutions. One cannot read a paper, watch t.v., or even listen to the radio without being reminded of the many troubles facing our society. Save the whales, save the trees, save the air, all serious problems to be sure, and there is no shortage of reminders of just how serious they are. However, there is one, very serious issue of which most people are surprisingly unaware. The loss of coastal wetlands is a severe problem that affects us all, and one this paper will address.
In the following paragraphs I shall educate the reader of what consitutes a wetland, the integral role wetlands play inthe balance
of life, and provide the reader with the vital information to arrive at his or her own conclusions about wetlands.
I also hope to address the whos, hows, and whys of wetland restoration, as well as connect the reader with inavluable resources for further evaluation
and study. I hope to help you on your way to gaining a better understanding of these priceless understanding of these priceless
natural resources and the roles they play in the balance of nature, but first, I feel as though
